The AA has the largest assistance recovery fleet in Ireland. Hi-tech aids provide member, location, car and Rescue details. The Rescue vehicles have satellite tracking equipment.

The AA’s patrol force is the largest and best trained, equipped to cope in a crisis with any model of car, of any age. The technical support and information available to our patrols is unmatched in the industry. 

AA patrols also have plenty of hands-on experience of solving traditional problems, such as faults with electrics, tyres and fuel, and are chosen for their friendly personalities.

Vehicles are custom designed and built for the AA by specialists, with modifications to help ensure members’ cars can be attended to, and transported, safely. Recovery vehicles have seating for members and their passengers.

Long-distance HGV car transporters are used for Irish and European recoveries - AA members will have travelled on by hire car under Five Star or the appropriate Irish membership cover. 

The Iveco 5912 is a special-purpose vehicle designed to allow the patrol to repair and, if necessary, recover a member’s motor vehicle and can be adapted to take a motorcycle if necessary.

The AA has a number of Fiat Scudo patrol vehicles which are fitted out to carry tools, replacement parts and specialist recovery equipment. Using the vehicle and its equipment the patrol will be able to repair your vehicle. Should this prove impossible, specialist recovery equipment can be used to get you to your destination.

These motorcycles, provided to Garda specification, are deployed in areas of high traffic density to maintain our ability to reach you quickly. 
They are equipped with battery boost facilities as well as a lightweight tool kit and commonly used equipment.
